Moldovan president says at meeting with European Commission President: Moldova's future in European Union

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has had a meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, on the eve of the Summit of the European Political Community. The head of state said that 1 June was an important day for Moldova and for the country‘s friends and partners, the presidential press service has reported.
„Today our country made a step forward towards the edification of the European Moldova at home through the signing of a new agreement, which provides for the lowering of the tariffs for roaming services starting from 1 January 2024. The Moldovan citizens will be able to be closer to the beloved people and will be able to speak cheaper and more often. Moldova’s connection with the European Union is more and more closer and brings concrete benefits to people,’’ the head of state said.
„The European Commission will help us, in continuation, to overcome the difficulties, as well as to develop the renewable energy sector, for which we are deeply grateful. Namely this means the partnership with the European Union – improvement of the living for our citizens. We thank you, dear friends, that you trust Moldova. Moldova’s future is in the European Union,’’ President Maia Sandu also said.
