Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ - At the Summit of the European Political Community today, we discuss about how we can bring back and maintain peace and security on our continent, so that we offer to our children a future which is not shadowed by threats. President Maia Sandu has made statements to this effect in a message conveyed on the occasion of Children’s Day.
„The most important citizens of the Earth are the children. The world’s future is in the hands of the children. Yet, the children’s future is in our hands and this future starts today. At the Summit of the European Political Community, we discuss about how we can bring back and maintain the peace and security on our continent, so that we offer to our children a future which is not shadowed by threats. We are obliged to provide them a happy childhood, in which each child is free to create and fulfill his/her dreams and potential,’’ the Moldovan president said.
The Children’s Day was established in 1954, called World Children’s Day. This day is marked on 1 June in Moldova and also in another about 50 states. At the same time, another over 100 states mark a day of children on different dates.
