Moldovan PM, Ukrainian president say Moldova, Ukraine must become EU members

Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean today had a dialogue with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on the sidelines of the Summit of the European Political Community, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM thanked the Kiev leader for the firmness with which the servicemen and the people of Ukraine defended the freedom and the European values in the entire region. Also, Dorin Recean voiced hope that the two countries would become members of the European Union as soon as possible.
„Moldova and Ukraine are not only neighbour states, but also close partners. The same desideratum unites us and we have a common interest – to bring peace to Europe and become members of the European Union. I am sure that we will manage to do this together. We stay in solidarity and we will continue providing our support to the Ukrainian people,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
The president of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the citizens of Moldova for the assistance provided to the Ukrainian refugees since the first day of Russia’s brutal invasion in Ukraine. In the discussion, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that the future of Moldova and Ukraine was in the EU.
