Moldovan Interior Ministry's Stefan cel Mare Academy to benefit from multifunctional shooting ground

Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Interior Ministry’s (MAI) Stefan cel Mare Academy will benefit from a multifunctional shooting ground.     

According to MAI, the negotiations with the development partners ahead of the launch of a project on modernization of the shooting ground are in the final phase. ‘’It is quite important that the future policemen develop their capacities of quick reaction and of taking correct decisions as regards the use of the fire arms, for their personal safety, the one of the colleagues and the citizens. The students will be able to exercise multiple scenarios of reaction in diverse situations they face on the spot, from cases of domestic violence to comprehensive actions of detaining armed offenders,’’ reads a MAI’s press release.   

The multifunctional shooting ground will be meant both for training young officers and non-commissioned officers of the Academy, as well as for the training of those from specialized subdivisions, as it is endowed with everything needed for the theoretical and practical training of the interior affairs employees.  

The project provides for the renovation and endowment of a hall for  trainings of shooting from all types of arms, due to be used by the future MAI employees in their work.   

According to MAI, the memorandum between the Academy and the development partners – United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Moldova and the INL Section of the U. S. Embassy in Chisinau - will be signed till 1 September this year.
