Applications for complementary subsidies in agriculture submitted today

Chisinau, July 24. /MOLDPRES/- Today the submission of applications for complementary subsidies in agriculture of up to 1.5 million lei is being started. Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, made the statement today.

According to the official, the Government will grant complementary subsidies in agriculture worth up to 1.5 million lei (75 thousand euros) per beneficiary, or, the Regulation on conditions for providing financial support has already been published in the Official Journal.

In the case of irrigation water user associations, the subsidies will be a maximum of three million lei. "Thus, in the next five years, the state will annually support at least three thousand beneficiaries, for whom about 13% of the subsidy fund will be allocated," said Bolea.

The complementary payment will be granted for the stimulation of access to investment credits, the development of ecological agriculture, the clearing of perennial plantations, the promotion of the use of irrigation systems, advisory services and training in agriculture.

Subsidy applications are submitted annually, on February 1 - September 30, by the subsidy applicant or his representative, in electronic format or on paper, at the headquarters of the territorial subdivision of the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA).

Present at the briefing, Diana Coşalîc, deputy director of AIPA, mentioned that in the next period, the Agency's specialists will travel to the localities of the country where they will hold information sessions to explain to farmers the procedure, eligibility and how to grant complementary subsidies.

The regulation on complementary subsidy measures was approved by Government Decision on July 5.
