Oleasea Stamate: CSJ decisions clearly demonstrate that some judges do not want vetting

Chisinau, 2 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- The head of the legal commission on rules and immunities, Olesea Stamate, described the decisions taken by the Supreme Court of Justice /CSJ/ as "a new attempt by corrupt groups in the system to block the extraordinary evaluation of judges and prosecutors".

Stamate claims that the decisions were issued "on purpose after the last parliament session".

"I have examined some of the decisions. In many of them I found a clear abuse, an obvious violation of legal norms. The more clear is the intention to sabotage, when we see that all the decisions have been cancelled. So it was not thoroughly examined, to see if some really deserved to be returned for evaluation or not", wrote Stamate.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court of Justice canceled the decisions of the independent Commission for evaluating the integrity of candidates for the position of member in the self-administration bodies of judges and prosecutors - the Superior Council of Magistracy and the Superior Council of the Prosecution.
