Chisinau, Aug. 3 /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Speaker Mihail Popșoi came with a call to external partners to get involved in the investigation of all the circumstances of the murder of the citizen from the left of the Dniester, the separatist region, Oleg Horjan. He launched the call at today's meeting with Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting, OSCE Special Representative for the Transnistrian settlement process, on a visit to Moldova.

The officials' talks also focused on the respect for human rights in the Transnistrian region, especially the murder case of the citizen of the Republic of Moldova Oleg Horjan.

Popsoi said that parliamentary hearings were organized on the issue, with the responsible authorities presenting the relevant information.

They also approached the developments recorded in the Transnistrian conflict settlement, in the context of the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine, and the need to continue the dialogue with the international partners involved in the process in order to keep the situation calm and prevent possible escalations.

"We are open to dialogue and continue to plead for a peaceful resolution of the conflict," he said.

The sides addressed issues related to the European integration agenda of the Republic of Moldova and the economic benefits of European integration for the business environment on both banks of the Dniester River.

"We will continue to work for the economic and social integration of citizens from both banks of the Dniester and promote the intensification of contacts between them, including through various projects," he said.

The OSCE special representative reiterated the Organization's support for the peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict.
