Israel's foreign minister: There is excellent cooperation between legal authorities of Moldova and Israel

Chisinau, 9 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- There is excellent cooperation between the legal authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Israel. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel Eli Cohen made the statement in the context of the extradition of former Moldovan MP Ilan Shor.

In an interview given to MOLDPRES, the official said that this matter is of a legal nature, therefore he cannot provide details on the issue. "I assure you we take such matters, as well as our bilateral relations in general, with the utmost seriousness and respect," Eli Cohen said.

This April, the Chisinau Court of Appeal pronounced the decision in Shor case, which is part of the "Bank fraud" case, saying that Ilan Shor was found guilty and was definitively sentenced to 15 years in prison, in a closed penitentiary, with the deprivation of the right to hold positions in the banking system for five years.
