Chisinau, August 11 /MOLDPRES/- Residents of Bârnova village, Ocnița district have access to water. This is possible as a result of the implementation of a project worth 11 million lei (550 thousand euros), included in the European Village program.
The project ensured the construction of 26 kilometers of aqueduct network and a water pumping station. The measures allowed to ensure easy access to drinking water for 950 households, the main public institutions and for several economic agents in the locality.
National Regional and Local Development Office (ONDRL) director Mihail Croitoru said that such projects are important in the development of rural communities, as they contribute to improving the quality of life of citizens, creating better conditions and modernizing local infrastructure.
So far, similar projects have been successfully implemented in 25 other localities of Moldova. As a result, about 130 km of water supply networks were built, which allows access to water for about 35 thousand citizens.
The European Village program includes 496 projects. Over 150 of them have already been completed.
