Polls carried out during election period to be authorized by CEC

Chisinau, August 15 /MOLDPRES/-Opinion polls regarding voters' political preferences, carried out during the electoral period must have an authorization from the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).

According to the CEC, research legal entities or relevant public associations will submit an application to the Commission that will contain: the name, contact details of the organization that commissioned and financed the survey, as well as the name of the organization's leader; an extract from the State Register of legal entities, a list of questions in the questionnaire; the exact period of time planned for data collection and the date of publication of the survey.

Applications for the authorization of opinion polls can be submitted no later than 10 days before election day, in the case of this year's general local elections, until October 25, 2023.

In accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Code, only authorized opinion polls can be published.
