Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - The authorities work on the elaboration of a mobile application, which would allow the full digitalization of the citizens’ interaction with the state. The new application is to be launched in the near future in testing regime and by the end of this year it might be available for citizens.

The state secretary at the Economic Development and Digitalization Ministry, (MDED), Mihai Lupascu, today unveiled information on the creation of the new application, following the approval by the government of the Strategy on Moldova’s Digital Transformation for 2023-2030.

According to the state secretary at MDED, the mobile application will allow each citizen to hold a digital identity and interact easily and comfortably with the public services provided by the state.

„Presently, we work actively on the first version of testing the application, which will be available in the next months. For the wide public, we hope to launch the application by the end of this year. At the first stage, we will have digital identity, i.e. the identity card, passport and driver’s licence will be available on the mobile phone, without the need to present them in classical formula, on paper. Another component will be a module of payments for all serves of governmental payments,’’ Mihai Lupascu said.

At present, 44 per cent of online public services for entrepreneurs and 34 per cent for citizens are registered. The authorities are set that, till the end of the 2024 year, the rate of online services provided to entrepreneurs should increase up to 75 per cent. At the same time, the final goal is that all public services should be available in digital format.
