Higher education diplomas from Moldova to be recognized in another 21 states

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - The diplomas issued by the higher education institutions of Moldova will be recognized in another 21 states of the world. This will be possible, after the government today approved a draft law on Moldova’s accession to the Global Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education.
According to Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun, the convention establishes universal principles on the recognition of education and qualifications, in order to facilitate the access to education, mobility between the higher education institutions from all over the world. ‘’We believe that the document will contribute to the enhancement of the academic mobility and the internationalization of the universities from Moldova,’’ Minister Dan Perciun said at the cabinet meeting.
Twenty one states have approved the Convention so far. Among them, there are France, Japan, Estonia, Lithuania Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Slovakia.
The Global Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education was adopted by the UNESCO member states in Paris in November 2019. The draft law on Moldova’s accession to the Convention is to be submitted to parliament for consideration.
