Moldovan parliament speaker says Moldova further relies on Lithuania's support in European integration way

Chisinau, 9 September /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, on a working visit to Vilnius, has had a meeting with Prime Minister of Lithuania  Ingrida Šimonytė. The subjects tackled were priorities from the autumn parliamentary session for the end of the year and Lithuania’s experience, which is extremely important, as it had the same way as Moldova several years ago, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.  

The parliament speaker said all authorities of Moldova worked on EU’s recommendations and carried out reforms in priority sectors, such as the justice, economy and security. In the context, Igor Grosu thanked for the interest showed by the Lithuanian partners in the organization in Chisinau of a forum of business people from the two countries, specialized in constructions, renewable energy, water supply and treatment, agro-food tourism.    

„We rely, in continuation, on Lithuania’s support on our European way, as well as on such files as the accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). Just on 8 September, Moldova received the news that it had signed the EU Single Market Programme. This programme will encourage the creation of startups and the development of competitive and sustainable small- and medium-sized enterprises and will provide access to the expertise and good practices of the EU member states. All these efforts will help us gradually integrate into EU’s single market and develop our economy,’’ the parliament speaker said.       

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu is on a working visit to Lithuania on 8-10 September.
