Meeting of Moldova Support Platform: Representatives of over 30 states and international organizations coming to Chisinau on October 17

Chisinau, 20 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- The fourth meeting of Moldova Support Platform will take place on October 17 in Chisinau. The event will bring together representatives of more than 30 countries and international organizations. Prime Minister Dorin Recean made the statement today.

The official said that the support needs for the Republic of Moldova will be examined at the meeting. "Moldova support platform was initiated by Romania, France and Germany, by our friends to gather all the countries in the European Union and outside it, who felt they wanted to support us in the context of the crisis generated by the war in Ukraine ", said Recean.

"At the previous meetings in Berlin, Bucharest and Paris, the Republic of Moldova received support including for the compensation of the expenses in the invoice, so that we can help farmers with free diesel, and infrastructure projects. At this year's meeting, the Government will discuss together with more than 30 countries and international organizations the necessary support to cover the budgetary expenses related to salaries and pensions, for the support of the vulnerable layers of society", he said.

Recean said that the event will focus on two development funds for the Republic of Moldova, "so that we can recover the losses from the economic decline, and start on a path of development". The first fund concerns the development of infrastructure, and the second fund concerns the energy transition and adjustment to environmental changes.

The first edition of the Ministerial Conference of Moldova Support Platform took place in Berlin, Germany, on April 5, 2022. The second edition took place in Bucharest, Romania, on July 15, 2022. The third edition was held in Paris, France on November 21, 2022.
