Disadvantaged families with many children to benefit from material assistance in Moldova

Chisinau, 25 September /MOLDPRES/ - The disadvantaged families and the ones with many children can benefit from material assistance worth 2,000 lei each (about 100 euros) at the birth of children. The support is provided within the programme on the support of families from the Chisinau municipality, in order to cover a part of the expenses related to child’s birth.    

According to the capital’s city hall, the beneficiaries of the programme are: families with children – no matter the status, which can receive the assistance at the birth of the third child and the next children; the disadvantaged families – for the birth of each child, starting the first one.

The right to one-off material aid at the birth of the child is established based on the application submitted to the general department of medical and social assistance, in a period of 12 calendar months after the date of the child’s birth. The application is submitted by one of the parents with the compulsory residence in the Chisinau city.   

During 2020-2023, 1,872 families benefited from financial assistance for the birth of 1,912 children. The sum of the allocations from the municipal budget stood at about 3.8 million lei.
