Technical project for construction of Vulcanesti-Chisinau overhead power line approved

Chisinau, 26 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- The technical project for the construction of the 400 kV Vulcanesti-Chisinau overhead power transmission line (LEA) was approved by the State Service for the Verification and Expertise of Projects and Constructions. The capacity of the line will have a power that could ensure up to 50% of the country's electricity consumption during the period of maximum load.

As a result of the approval of the technical project, the responsible institutions will initiate the land expropriation procedure and the preparation of the work to start construction.

The Vulcanesti-Chisinau LEA will have a total length of 158 kilometers and will pass through towns in eight districts in the south and center of the country, from Vulcanesti to Chisinau.

The LEA construction is part of Moldova Power System Development Project. The value of the project is 61 million euros and is financed by the World Bank.
