Bombteh specialists detonate component with explosive device of missile fallen in central Moldova

Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ - Bombteh specialists of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) have recently detonated the component with explosive device of a missile which had fallen in the Harbovat lake, central Anenii Noi district.

According to the Interior Ministry (MAI), hydro-technical specialists pumped water from the Harbovat Lake for the intervention to be made in safety. At the same time, the team of police’s pyrotechnists analyzed the operational situation during more hours, in order to identify the best solution for removing/detonating the explosive placed on the bottom of the lake. The authorities specified that there was no danger for the residents, as the area is isolated and the first houses are at a distance of 1 km far from the danger.     

Following the examination, the authorities confirmed that the remains were coming from an air missile and specialists are to identify the type and origin of its fabrication.  

After local residents had informed the authorities about the noticing of components which might come from a missile in the nearby lake, which would have fallen in that zone, MAI undertook special measures of protection of the Harbovat Lake, as there were suspicions that the component with explosive device might be placed on the bottom of the lake.
