Moldova to receive 105 million euros meant for energy vulnerability reduction fund

Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/ - Another 105 million euros, meant for the energy vulnerability reduction fund, will be disbursed till the end of this year.   

This is provided for in the Amendment No 2 to the financing agreement between the Moldovan government and the European Commission on the State Building and Resilience Contract for Moldova, signed today by Director General of the Directorate-General Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) of the European Commission Gert Jan Koopman and Economic Development and Digitalization Minister Dumitru Alaiba.      

These 105 million euros is part of the European Union’s package of assistance worth 250 million euros, announced in 2022.  

The energy vulnerability reduction fund was established in Moldova in the last year and its goal is to prevent and combat the residents’ energy vulnerability. The fund’s sources of financing are the means of the state budget, European ones or other external sources.
