Moldovan foreign affairs minister says Moldova Support Platform reminds that country has devoted friends

Chisinau, 17 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldova Support Platform reminds that country had devoted friends, which support Moldova at any time, both in Europe and beyond the Ocean. Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry Nicu Popescu has made statements to this effect in the opening of the fourth issue of the ministerial conference held in Chisinau.     

„We started the fourth edition of the Moldova Support Platform, warmly meeting those three important co-organizers, Foreign Affairs Minister of Germany Annalena Baerbock and France Catherine Colonna and Secretary General of Romania’s Government Mircea Abrudean. This special ministerial conference reminds us that Moldova has devoted friends, who support us at any time, both in Europe and beyond the Ocean,’’ Nicu Popescu said.      

The official said that Moldova Support Platform had been an inestimable instrument, backing the country in managing risks, multiple crises and challenges which appeared in the wake of Russia’s unjust war against Ukraine. ‘’Almost one year after the Paris Conference on 21 November 2022, we brought together in the heart of Moldova, in Chisinau, today, stressing an extremely important aspect: due to the support of our friends, the present Moldova is not the same Moldova as in March 2022,’’ the deputy PM said.      

Nicu Popescu thanked all partners for the constant commitment to support the country’s European integration way, based on continuous efforts of reform and common values of the democracy, freedom and peace.   

Fifty seven delegations from over 30 states, international organizations and financial institutions brought together at the fourth issue of the Moldova Support Platform in Chisinau today.
