Chisinau, 17 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldova Support Platform, organized in Chisinau this year, comes up with a firm urge for the strong and free countries to trust Moldova’s power to develop, to support us in this approach, to invest here and participate in Moldova’s transformation and its full connection to the European Union. President Maia Sandu today made statements to this effect at the fourth edition of the Moldova Support Platform, held in Chisinau.

„Our plan is to preserve peace at home, to ensure European living conditions in our settlements, to have modern roads all over the country, bridges which are to connect us to Romania and the European Union,’’ Maia Sandu said.

The Moldovan president thanked the foreign partners for the support provided to Moldova. ‘’We appreciate the assistance of our partners. This is a sign of solidarity on your behalf and a proof that we are part of the European family. This platform brought the partners together, who help us in many ways. Your support helped us keep the light on, keep the heating on, cope with the increases in prices, cope with this situation of blackmail with gas, maintain the economy functional, focus on the reforms underway and on the accession to EU,’’ Maia Sandu said.

The head of state noted that, although the challenges had remained equally serious, the country’s resilience was enhancing. ‘’In more sectors, we are in a better position than one year ago. We are more prepared for the next winter. Russia’s blackmail has failed; our infrastructure is prepared to accept gas from more sources. We have gas stored and we have sources to reduce the burden from the vulnerable people and they will feel this in winter. Yes, we are more resilient, but we are not in the situation to overcome these challenges by ourselves,’’ the official stressed.

Fifty seven delegations from over 30 states, international organizations and financial institutions brought together at the fourth issue of the Moldova Support Platform in Chisinau today.
