Chisinau, Oct. 19 /MOLDPRES/- Today MPs adopted a statement condemning the attacks on Israel and held a minute of silence.

The statement was read in plenary by PAS deputy Oazu Nantoi, after which the opposition MPs asked for a break to complete the document. After the break, the opposition came up with three amendments that were not backed by the majority.

They condemn the attacks on Israel and the massacre of the civilian population. They expressed regret that among the people who lost their lives as a result of the bloody attacks is a Moldovan citizen. They demanded the release of the Israeli hostages and found that the civilian population of the Gaza Strip is a prisoner of a terrorist group.

The statement reads that on October 7, 2023, the terrorist group Hamas "undertook a barbaric attack on the civilian population of Israel and against the State of Israel." In this context, the Republic of Moldova associates itself with the states of the world that have expressed their solidarity with the people of Israel and vehemently condemns the brutality of the actions committed by the terrorist group Hamas against the civilian population, the massive rocket attacks and the massacre of the civilian population. The document also condemns the barbaric practices of taking hostages, demanding their immediate and unconditional release.

They reconfirm support for the people of Israel, and the Moldovan Parliament stands in solidarity with the civilized world in supporting Israel to defend its own citizens and the right to exist.
