GENERAL LOCAL ELECTIONS-2023 in Moldova: Synthesis of 22 October day

Chisinau, 22 October /MOLDPRES/ - The electoral agenda of the 22 October day included an event in Balti, where the candidate for the office of mayor on behalf of the Chance Party, Victoria Sapa, unveiled the programme on development of the municipality.       

„I have repeatedly said that the force of the Chance Party consists in the unity of visions, goals and actions. We have an excellent programme and, what’s most important, functional. It is easy to enforce it,’’ Victoria Sapa said.   

Also today, the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) started its electoral campaign in Ungheni. ‘’It is an honour for me to be candidate for the office of mayor in my native city of Ungheni. I am a stubborn Ungheni resident, who has always proved civic spirit and involvement in the initiatives organized in our municipality, based on sound values. I took the decision to run in the polls, given the specific context, my own values and objectives, which I found in the PLDM team, a member of which I have been since 2010. I trust the potential of the Ungheni city, I trust the PLDM team and I am sure that we will succeed together,’’ the PLDM candidate for the position of mayor of the Ungheni municipality, Lidia Sanduleac, said.      

Today evening, the candidate for the office of Orhei city, Alexei Lungu, presented the programme of the Chance Party for the development of this city. The event took place in the Ivanos park, where the Chance Party’s team informed what it was set to do in the near future. Lungu also spoke about the programmes on social support. ‘’We are a team which does not only promises, but also proves the intentions by deeds. We are proud of our achievements and of the fact that we make the fellow countrymen happy,’’ Alexei Lungu noted.    

The Central Electoral Commission informed that applications on the voting at the place of stay during the general local polls due on 5 November 2023 can be submitted started from today. Under the electoral legislation, the voter who, for health reasons of other well-grounded reasons, cannot come to the precincts of the polling station, can ask the electoral bureau for the voting with mobile ballot box. The applications are made in written form starting from two weeks ahead of the voting day and till 14:00 of the day before the elections. On the voting day, the applications are approved by the electoral bureau till 14:00, only upon the presentation of a medical certificate.
