Old Orhei nature reserve of Moldova to be rehabilitated with state's support

Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/ - The regional project on the construction and rehabilitation of the objects of the Old Orhei (Orheiul Vechi) Culture and Nature Reserve is scheduled to the finished till early 2024. This initiative is backed by Moldova’s government through the needed financial allocation from the National Fund of Regional and Local Development (FNDRL).    

According to the Centru Regional Development Agency (ADR Centru), presently, the project already has made a string of significant achievements. The works on construction of the protection Wall were carried out; the Wall was reconstructed and is to be arranged both inside and outside, under the project. ‘’It is placed just at the entrance into the Reserve and at the end of the project, it will meet visitors with topic-related pictures displayed in specially arranged areas,’’ the quoted source said.    

Also, the construction of the multifunctional conference Centre starts; according to the beneficiary, the Centre will host important topic-related events. ‘’Another important object where the reconstruction works are carried out is the medieval Turkish Bath; this is the biggest one out of those three baths discovered following archaeological diggings. The works of setting the way of access for visitors continue on the area of the Reserve, including for people with special needs, to tourist objects, such as the Butuceni Cape, the sites medieval Bath and protection Wall,’’ ADR Centru noted.

The construction contract on the project was signed in late October 2022 and sees the carrying out of the works on a period of 14 months. The value of the works planned is of 28 million lei (1.4 million euros), with the money provided from FNDRL.
