Today - last day for election campaigning

Chisinau, Nov. 3 /MOLDPRES/- Today is the last day the election campaigning is allowed for the general local elections on November 5.

According to the Electoral Code, electoral agitation is strictly prohibited on and before election day. Election candidates are not allowed to appear on television or radio broadcasts. Also, the local public administration and advertising broadcasters have the obligation to remove electoral advertising materials. The ban does not apply to information already placed on the Internet.

According to the Contravention Code, the continuation of electoral agitation on the mentioned days by the media, electoral candidates and citizens represents an administrative offense and is fined by 40 to 60 conventional units (from 2000 to 3000 lei) for private people or from 100 to 150 conventional units (from 5000 to 7500 lei) for legal entities.

The general local elections will be held on November 5.
