Organizations from research, innovation sector to receive institutional financing from state budget of Moldova

Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/ - The public law organizations from the research and innovation sectors, including the public higher education institutions, will benefit from institutional financing from the state budget, in order to maintain and develop the public infrastructure in the fields of research and innovation and for staff expenses. The government approved a decision to this effect today.    

The institutional financing will be carried out in correlation with the human resources, infrastructure of research and the institutional performance. The secretary general of the Education and Research Ministry, Nadejda Velisco, said the initiative would contribute to the creation of conditions for the attraction and keeping of young people in research, to turn to good account the scientific potential, including the researchers of retirement age, as well as to improve and develop the infrastructure of the organizations from the research and innovation sectors.   

The budgetary allocations will be provided according to several types of institutional financing: at least 90 per cent for the basic financing, 6 per cent for complementary financing and at least 4 per cent for additional financing. 

The new regulations on budgetary allocations see also the way of distribution of the basic and complementary institutional financing, the institutional performance indexes on the basis of which the complementary financing will be distributed and the way the carrying out of the financed activities is assessed.
