Dimensions of trucks to measured, weighed in movement with help of digital platform in Moldova

Chisinau, 6 December /MOLDPRES/ - The dimensions of the vehicles which move on national public roads will be measured and weighed in movement with the help of a digital platform. The cabinet today approved the creation of the new information system.   

Thus, the process of weighing the pressure on axle and preselection of vehicles which exceed the admissible pressure limits will be automated. The system will carry out measurements throughout the year and will cover at least 95 per cent of the entire flow of trucks who move on the public roads.   

The Infrastructure and Regional Development Industry noted that the system’s implementation would ensure the prevention of the deterioration of the national public roads because of exceedings of trucks’ weight and will contribute to the increase of the duration of roads’ exploitation and to the cutting of the expenses for their current maintenance and repair.  

Also, the system will ensure the control of the access to data and the tightening of the security of the users’ collected information. Through this measure, the authorities are set to improve the quality of the public services and the enhancement of the efficiency of the use of the road fund for the management and maintenance of public roads.
