Moldelectrica company's electricity record system to be modernized

Chisinau, Dec. 8 /MOLDPRES/- Electricity record system (Meter Management System, MMS) of Moldelectrica company will be modernized and automated, in accordance with the needs of the national operator of the electricity transmission system and under the conditions of the new electricity market model.

According to those in charge, the current system for collecting data from electricity meters is an outdated one that requires manual data processing, while the new system will include new protocols for automation and data collection from meters, with the possibility of exchanging data, data processing and analysis that will allow the state enterprise to monitor and manage the record of electricity.

For this purpose, an international tender was launched regarding the contracting of consulting services for the elaboration of the specifications for Moldelectrica.

The international tender is part of the Power System Development Project, a project whose objectives are the construction of the high-voltage overhead power line on the Vulcanesti-Chisinau direction, the modernization/expansion of two power stations, as well as the strengthening of the dispatching and electricity metering system. The total value of the project is 61 million euros and is financed by the International Development Association - IDA, World Bank.
