Chisinau, Dec. 9 /MOLDPRES/- Congratulations to all the newly elected and re-elected mayors. The government will carry out the tasks set by President Maia Sandu in the opening speech of the event. Prime Minister Dorin Recean made the statement at Mayors' Forum.

"I come with the message to bring Europe home, to build Europe at home. We are already building roads, aqueducts and sewers, repairing schools and kindergartens - developing other programs - that make life comfortable under the European Village program. We need honest mayors, responsible mayors who will help us achieve these goals", he said.

He said that this geopolitical conversation about our direction of development must be stopped. "Let's explain to people the benefits of European integration. These are improved living conditions, quality education, development for families, stimulation of economic activities. The government will achieve the goal of increasing the salaries of mayors, vice-mayors and secretaries of councils. Let's also work on generating more income", he said.

Mayors' Forum is being held at the Palace of the Republic today. The event is attended by representatives of over 700 localities from all over the country.

The event was marked by the presence and speech of President Maia Sandu, who opened the forum, emphasizing the vision and strategic direction for local administration in the context of the country's European aspirations.

The forum continued with the participation of Prime Minister Dorin Recean, who answered the questions of local representatives.

The closing of the forum will take place after 13:00, with a speech by Speaker Igor Grosu.
