Germany to provide Moldova with 14.8 million euros for financing of projects for young people

Chisinau, 11 December /MOLDPRES/ - Germany will provide Moldova with a grant worth 14.8 million euros for the implementation of projects in the energy efficiency sector, professional training of young people and public administration.  

The members of the parliament’s commission for foreign policy and European integration approved the consultative opinion for starting the negotiations and approving the signing of a treaty with the government of Germany.  

Thus, 3.8 million euros will be provided for the promotion of young people’s employability, through the organization of professional training programmes, oriented to practice in the sectors of the economy with a big demand of qualitative labour force, including in the energy sector. The programme will be implemented on the period 2024-2026 and beneficiaries will be young people with ages up to 35 years, both from Moldova and Ukraine.  

A grant of 5 million euros will be provided for energy efficiency and renewable energy. The non-refundable financial support will be used for the development of regional energy efficiency and renewable energy plans, as well as for the organization of activities of dissemination of good practices in this field at the municipal level. The project will be implemented on the period November 2023 – October 2026.   

Another grant of 6 million euros is meant for the development of the attractiveness and efficiency of the public administration from Moldova.
