Moldovan PM says leadership determined to continue reforms to become part of great European family as soon as possible

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - We know what we have to do; we are determined to continue the reforms, in order to become part of the great European family as soon as possible. Prime Minister Dorin Recean has conveyed a message to this end, after the European Council today voted for the starting of the negotiations on Moldova’s accession to the European Union.   

The PM addressed a congratulatory message to all citizens. ‘’Congratulations, dear citizens! Today, we start the negotiations on accession to the European Union. The historical decision by the European Council is the result of the effort we have everybody made in the last years, along with President Maia Sandu. We know what we have to do; we are determined to press ahead with the reforms, in order to become part of the great European family as soon as possible. Moldova is European. Our future is in EU,’’ Dorin Recean said.  

The European Council today voted for the starting of the negotiations on Moldova’s accession to the European Union. The decision comes after, on 8 November 2023, the European Commission recommended that the European Union member countries initiate the negotiations on Moldova’s accession to the European Union.
