Moldovan MP visits businesses from Cahul, backed by state, European partners

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean, on a working visit to the southern Cahul district, today visited two local businesses which had benefited from more national and international programmes, the government’s communication department has reported.   

For the beginning, the PM went to the workshop of Ion Caraja, who in 2014 started a business of processing metal. With the use of the 3D equipment, gates, doors, fences and other iron decorative products are made at the workshop.  

The entrepreneur extended the business due to a grant worth 30,000 euros, got through the EU4Moldova: Focal Regions, financed by the European Union. He bought a metal yielding machine with this money, which enhanced the productivity significantly. While one product per day has been earlier made, now, those eight employees manage to make up to ten objects, subsequently sold on the local market. Also, one of the partners of the workshop is the Draexlmaier Company – the provider of car cables.    

Another business visited by PM Dorin Recean is the Albeer brewery, opened by the Albur family from Cahul, after a travel to the Czech Republic. With the support of the Czech brewer, Eugen Albur created his own recipe and in 2016 he launched the brewery which includes a mini-factory and a pub for visitors. Shortly after the launch, the product ranked first at the category of blond beer craft, at a contest organized in Moldova.  

Presently, those five assortments of beer are sold in over 35 settlements, including in Chisinau. In the long run, the entrepreneur plans to bottle the beer in glass, in order to export it to Romania. To develop its business, Eugen Albur submitted files to more funds and now it intends to register for the 373 governmental programme. Thus, through the Energy Efficiency Fund, he managed to set photovoltaic panels, which significantly cut the costs and he has recently won support on behalf of the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development, which will be provided through the programme on upgrading and energy efficiency of small- and medium-sized enterprises.
