Moldovan president says National Police, along with other institutions in first line of defence of democracy in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has congratulated the officers and civilian employees of the Interior Ministry (MAI) on the 33rd anniversary of the foundation of the National Police, on the latter’s professional day, the presidential press service has reported.    

„The police work for all of us to be in safety. I appreciate the work carried out by each police officer, the vigilance and courage they prove in their mission, especially on this period, with a war at the border and with many challenges in the country. The National Police, along with other institutions, is in the first line of defence of the democracy in Moldova,’’ the Moldovan president said.     

The head of state thanked the policemen for the professionalism and dedication with which they defended the peace, order, and public peace, the fundamental rights and freedoms of the citizens. Also, Maia Sandu expressed gratitude for the fact, while the other citizens enjoy the holidays, the policemen would be on duty.    

„Dear policemen and policewomen, Congratulations! Let us everybody have peace and content in homes and have the strength to move further on our European way,’’ Maia Sandu also said.
