About 42 thousand taxpayers made percentage designation in 2023

Chisinau, 3 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- The year 2023 was the seventh year in which tax-paying individuals in the Republic of Moldova had the right to redirect 2% of their income tax to a non-commercial organization or religious entity. Thus, last year, 41,896 taxpayers made the percentage designation.

According to the State Fiscal Service, of the total operations performed, 38,651 were validated, in the amount of 12,493,586 lei (about 624 thousand euros).

The percentage designation is the process by which private people can direct 2% of the amount of income tax calculated annually to the budget, to one of the non-commercial organizations in the country. The given mechanism is valid for resident taxpayers, who have no income tax debts for the previous fiscal periods and pay the income tax in full and on time for the fiscal period for which the designation was made.
