Moldova's National Anticorruption Centre to be included in system of state's security bodies

Chisinau, 17 January /MOLDPRES/ - The National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) will be included in the system of the state’s security bodies. The government approved a draft law to this effect today.

„The cabinet supports the approval of the draft and finds out the importance of CNA’s inclusion in the system of the state’s security bodies, proceeding from the events triggered by the unpredictable situations Moldova has been facing as regards ‘’the corruption and combating corruption.’’ It is highlighted that Moldova’s security and defence policy is hit by more legal and institutional deficiencies, which, on the one hand, do not allow the efficient work of the national security and defence system and on the other hand, does not ensure a proper support for the implementation of the European integration goal and of participation in the common security and defence policy,’’ Interior Minister Adrian Efros said at the cabinet meeting.

In these conditions, according to the minister, ‘’the consolidated mechanism of ensuring the national security is affected, in conditions when the corruption sector is not ensured by any authority or the national security is ensured only through the effort of all bodies, which  carry out their powers in a synergic way.’’

At the same time, the authorities say that an inter-institutional working group is needed to be set up, in order to elaborate a new draft law on the state’s security and state’s security bodies.
