PM: Mihail Popșoi to take over foreign affairs portfolio, Cristina Gherasimov - European integration portfolio

Chisinau, 24 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Speaker Mihail Popșoi will take over the foreign affairs portfolio next week, and Cristina Gherasimov will manage the European integration portfolio. Prime Minister Dorin Recean made the statement at today's cabinet meeting, after in the morning, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu announced his resignation.

"Next week, Mihail Popșoi will take over the portfolio of foreign affairs. European integration portfolio will be held by Cristina Gherasimov, who will lead the Ministry for European Affairs and will also coordinate the activity of the European integration office", said Recean.

Mihail Popșoi currently serves as deputy speaker. Cristina Gherasimov was an adviser to the President of the Republic of Moldova in the foreign policy and European integration. In late November 2023, she was appointed as state secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
