Digital Pathology Laboratory inaugurated at USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu"

Chisinau, 23 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- Digital Pathology Laboratory was inaugurated at the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) "Nicolae Testemițanu" today. It is equipped with modern diagnostic and macroscopic image recording equipment provided as humanitarian aid by the Department for Relations with Republic of Moldova (DRRM) within the Romanian government.

The act of transmission - receipt was signed by DRRM state secretary Adrian Dupu and university rector Emil Ceban. The donation includes a diagnostic and image analysis system for 100 users, 15 diagnostic units and a macroscopic image recording system. The value of the donated goods is 499,800 Romanian lei.

Attending the event, Emil Ceban said that the equipment is of major importance to the university, teaching staff and students. "They will use modern and advanced technologies in the educational process. Modern equipment will allow scientific research in the field to establish diagnosis and treatment. We thank the Romanian government for supporting the development of higher medical education projects. We are counting on a sustainable cooperation in the future", he said.

For his part, Adrian Dupu said that the laboratory will facilitate the work of teachers, students and researchers. "Last year we tried to focus on education. I am glad that following the discussions we were able to support USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu", which is our partner. Quality education cannot be carried out without high-performance equipment. We need well-trained medical staff who can practice under good conditions. I am sure that our collaboration will continue", he said.

In November 2023, DRRM also donated to the university a high-performance scanner - digital imaging system of histological, cytological and immunohistochemical slides - a set of components necessary for implementing modern methods of teaching and learning pathology, evaluating knowledge and modernizing the research process in medicine.
