Moldovan PM says fight against corruption strengthens institutions, contributes to irreversibility of reforms in justice secrtor

Chisinau, 26 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has participated in a meeting of the Anticorruption Platform, organized at the Justice Ministry’s headquarters. The PM said that this format of communication contributed to the identification of the pressing problems on the anticorruption segment and emphasizes the importance of the effort of combating the phenomenon and of the risks related to it, the government’s communication department has reported.     

„The Anticorruption Platform gives each of us possibility to express the point of view, to reach, together a conclusion and act. The fight against corruption fits both the list of our commitments before the European Union and the basic priorities of the government. This fight strengthens the institutions and makes all processes of reforms in the justice sector irreversible,’’ PM Dorin Recean said.   

The participants in the meeting discussed the draft Regulation on the organization and work of the Anticorruption Platform, the way of foundation, the powers, rights and duties of the members. They also discussed the strengthening of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (PA) and the digital solution for monitoring the progress made in combating the organized crime and the corruption.   

The participants in the event presented the 2024-2028 National Integrity and Anticorruption Programme. At the same time, they set forth the conclusions of the report on the opportunity of organizing, at the National Justice Institute, a specialized course of continuous training for prosecutors from the territorial prosecutor’s offices and criminal prosecution officers of the National Anticorruption Centre.     

The first meeting of the Platform from 2024 was summoned today. The authorities are set to regularly hold its meetings, in order to optimize the process of coordination of the policies in the anticorruption sector and of those related to the anticorruption field, for the active involvement of the authorities and institutions, to facilitate their communication and cooperation.
