Chisinau, 31 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan Commission for Emergency Situations today canceled the decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations of Chisinau, whereby it was set that parents should pay fees for extended hours groups. Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun made the statement today.

According to the minister, the responsibility for providing groups with extended hours falls to local public authorities.

Also, the CSE canceled the decision by which the order of Minister of Education on termination of employment of the head of the Chisinau Education Directorate was cancelled.

"The basis for cancelation of these decisions is exceeding duties of CSE Chisinau, or this Commission does not have such powers, it cannot declare an emergency situation in the education system, it cannot cancel the order of the minister, respectively, from our point of view, what happened is an obvious overstepping of the job duties of the people who made this decision. We will address the relevant bodies to assess and sanction those who are guilty of exceeding duties", said Dan Perciun.

The minister said that the Chisinau Municipal Council should next meet, "to approve the budget for 2024 and all the necessary documents so that the groups with extended hours can be financed", especially in the conditions where, according to the minister, " in the provisional budget of Chisinau, money was budgeted to cover the necessary expenses in this regard".

CSE Chisinau last week approved a decision on resuming the activity of groups with extended hours for students in the capital, with the parents paying the fees in this regard.
