Moldovan PM has discussions with local public administration's representatives of Causeni district

Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean and representatives of the local public administration (APL) and of the de-concentrated services of the south-eastern Causeni district have discussed possibilities of developing settlements. The PM stressed the importance of identifying sources of income locally. At the same time, he specified that the cabinet would help the mayors to attract investments and implement projects, the government’s communication department reported.    

„The government’s priority is the development of settlements and the APL’s role is extremely important to this end. We will give priority to the local development through all funds available, as well as through ones which we will access with the starting of the process of negotiation on accession to the European Union,’’ the prime minister said.   

PM Dorin Recean urged the APL representatives to participate in the second call on the proposal of projects within the European Village Programme, with orientation to settlements’ supply with water and sewerage. So far, eight projects out of those 18 proposed by the Causeni district have been finished already. It is about the extension of the sewerage network in the Coscalia village, modernization of the street illumination system in the Ursoaia village, carrying out of the general urban plan for the Taraclia village, renovation of the façade and the thermal insulation of the building of the mayoralty from the Farladeni village. Also, the play field was arranged at the gymnasium and kindergarten from the Tanatarii Noi village; mini-football fields were constructed in the villages of Baimaclia and Tanatari and the festivity hall from the community centre of the Saiti village was repaired.         

„The European Village Programme is the biggest investment of the government in our villages and cities since the proclamation of the Independence so far, which is fully managed by mayoralties. The communities know better what they need and we can everybody see that these projects change not only the way our villages and communes look, but including the quality of life of each citizen, including here, in Causeni. I urge you in continuation to submit applications on participation in equally nice projects,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.       

The participants in the meeting tackled also subjects on the connection of the Ciuflesti village to the natural gas network, the rehabilitation of the Salcuta-Taraclia road segment, for which the sum of 150 million lei has been already allocated, as well as the management of platforms for waste.
