Chisinau, Feb. 6 /MOLDPRES/- During 2023, Energocom company provided electricity for consumers on the right bank of the Dniester river by purchasing energy from the domestic market, from the Moldovan Thermal Power Plant in the Transnistrian region (MGRES), but also from import.

The largest part of electricity, about 78% of the total amount purchased by Energocom during the last year, was from MGRES, totaling 3 278 475 MWh. CETs in Chisinau and Balti produced a total of about 14% of the energy requirement. The quantity delivered by the power plants on the right bank of the Dniester in 2023 increased by over 15 thousand MWh compared to the previous year, Energocom announced.

Another about 2%, or around 81 thousand MWh, was produced by renewable energy plants. This quantity refers only to eligible producers who sell energy to SA Energocom, there are also producers on the market who have signed contracts with other suppliers.

Imported electricity was about 6% (approximately 250 thousand MWh), decreasing compared to last year. In 2023, Energocom bought electricity from Hidroelectrica, Nuclearelectrica and OPCOM from Romania, from Ucrhidroenergo of Ukraine. In 2023, the import from Ukraine constituted 10 106 MWh, while from Romania - 240 383 MWh, including from the Romanian OPCOM exchange, the energy from the exchange being intended to cover the deficit, especially during peak hours.

The weighted average price of electricity procured from the left side of the Dniester in 2023 was 67 dollars/MWh, being revised down from April 1, 2023. For 2024, Energocom will procure most of the energy requirements, as well as at MGRES, its price being 66 dollars/MWh. At the same time, the company has concluded contracts with producers from Romania and Ukraine.
