Moldovan parliament to have support of European parliament in combating disinformation

Chisinau, Feb. 6 /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan parliament will benefit from support of the European Parliament in combating disinformation. A group of officials from the Moldovan Parliament Secretariat paid a study visit to the European Parliament.

The assistance provided by the European Parliament will strengthen the capacities of the parliamentary institution in the European integration process, increase resilience and improve the ability to respond to risks and vulnerabilities through actions to prevent, identify and counter manipulation and disinformation actions.

Ensuring the transparency of the activity of the parliamentary institution, effective communication with journalists, as well as the program of activities for people who want to visit the Parliament were addressed during the study visit. The activity of the parliamentary committees in combating and preventing disinformation in the public space was also discussed.

The delegation had meetings with MEP Dragoș Tudorache, coordinator of the activities of the European Parliament to support parliamentary democracy in the Republic of Moldova, officials of the European Parliament and the European Commission.

The study visit was part of the Support in combating disinformation program. The program was organized within the Memorandum of Understanding between the European Parliament and the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, signed in November 2021.
