New measles case registered in Moldova

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - A new measles case was registered in Moldova in a 47-year-old man from Chisinau who has recently returned from abroad.
According to the National Public Health Agency (ANSP), the person is hospitalized and gets the proper treatment. This is the fourth measles case, confirmed through laboratory diagnose, since the beginning of this year. Two of them are of import.
Specialists in the immunizations field call on the residents to be aware of the danger of the spread of measles and other diseases which can be prevented through vaccination.
The measles virus continues to be a danger for Moldova’s residents, hitting the non-vaccinated people. Since the beginning of this year, this is the fourth case recorded in the country. In 2023, three measles cases were reported and no case was registered in 2021 and 2022.
