Moldovan PM says citizens must see whom cabinet subsidizes

Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/ - The authorities are looking for solutions, in order to ensure the transparency of the information about the beneficiaries of subsidies for agriculture.

„The Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry (MAIA) appealed for a notification from the Justice Ministry, so that we make sure that we publish the information which is with personal character, from the viewpoint of data. Moreover, in the new criteria of subsidization, when somebody applies, he/she will have to sign that, from now on, all information, i.e. the full financial reports of these companies should be published, should be public, so that the citizens see whom we subsidize. I.e., once the citizens finance and help this branch from their money, their taxes, there should not be impediments for those who benefit from public money to publish the financial reports,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said at a TV programme.

In 2023, the fund for the subsidization of agriculture and rural environment amounted to 1.6 billion lei.
