Chisinau, 23 February /MOLDPRES/ - The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) will have 35 new transport units, endowed for the carrying out of the job duties. The transport means were delivered to ANSA at a today’s event on the distribution of the vehicles to the territorial subdivisions.

„Our goal is to have an efficient and functional state. For this, we digitalize, remove the useless bureaucracy, simplify procedures and endow the institutions with the instruments necessary, in order to provide qualitative services to citizens and entrepreneurs. For the optimization of ANSA’s work, we do not only reduce the risk of corruption, but also contribute to a transparent and fair business environment,’’ Deputy Prime Minister, Economic Development and Digitalization Minister Dumitru Alaiba said.

The institution’s endowment with transport units was one of the foremost goals of the food safety authority. The park of vehicles at the level of the ANSA subdivisions was insufficient and obsolete, to ensure the good carrying out of the plan of controls and plans of monitoring approved annually.

„The cars which ANSA receives today are not only vehicles. They are instruments of saving time, money and efforts for the people who have their businesses far from the regulation authorities, as well as for the authorities either. Now, the authorities’ representatives will become quicker and more efficient when fulfilling their tasks, while the entrepreneurs will receive the permissive documents upon request on the spot,’’ World Bank’s Country Manager for Moldova Inguna Dobraja said.

The automobiles were distributed to ANSA’s territorial food safety subdivisions (with status of department). This will significantly contribute to the consolidation of the resources, in order to carry out the activities of control, both planned and unforeseen. ‘’The Agency’s endowment with transport units will contribute to the consolidation of the institutional capacities and to the strengthening of the administrative resources at the level of ANSA’s territorial food safety subdivisions in the carrying out of the state controls, according to the legislative provisions. It will have positive impact for the economic operators, as ANSA will be quicker in relations with them, even at the stage of issuance of permissive acts, as well as for the consumers – by intervening quicker, including in the case of petitions,’’ the ANSA director general, Radu Musteata, said.

The procedure of handover-takeover of the vehicles will be made in two portions. The first portion took place on 23 February 2024. The inspectors received 25 transport units. The other 10 cars will be delivered in next March. The procurement was carried out by the World Bank, through the Micro-, Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises’ Competitiveness Project, with the support of Moldova’s Economic Development and Digitalization Ministry.
