Chisinau, 27 February /MOLDPRES/ - The government of Moldova today delivered a consignment of humanitarian assistance worth 5 million lei (about 250,000 euros) in all to Ukraine. Five trucks with a load of over 75 tons were escorted by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU).
According to the Interior Ministry (MAI), the consignment includes assets from the energy and medical sectors, as well as systems for transfusion of blood and disinfectants. Also, the Moldovan government delivered food products in form of tinned goods necessary for people at risk.
„MAI also benefits from over 100,000 lei for transport expenses – money provided from the government’s reserve fund. The cabinet ruled to provide the humanitarian assistance after, on 15 November 2023, the Foreign Affairs Ministry had received a list with assets needed on behalf the authorities from Ukraine,’’ MAI said.
Similar assistance was provided to the neighbour country in the last year as well.
