Commission for Emergency Situations approved new measures to ensure country's food security

Chisinau, March 26. /MOLDPRES/- Import of wheat, corn and sunflower seeds into Moldova will continue to be allowed under a license issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the government's communication department has reported.

The Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE) has decided to extend the measure for 3 months to maintain an economically sustainable price for local cereal products on the domestic market.

The application for the issuance of the import license can be submitted by a legal entity or private people, which carries out economic activities of manufacturing oils and fats, milling products, preparations for feeding farm animals or raising animals. The requests will be examined by a committee established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.
