Chisinau, April 9 /MOLDPRES/- Joint-stock company Floarea Soarelui announced that last week the enterprise managed to pay a good part of its debts to farmers, and the remaining payments will be completed this week. The statement was made yesterday at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA), where the second round of talks between sunflower seed producers and processors took place.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA) Vladimir Bolea highlighted the important role of local producers and processors in providing vegetable oil to the Moldovan population, and noted the importance of maintaining oil prices and prioritizing the interests of producers and citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

The parties also assessed the prices that could be offered for the available quantities of sunflower seeds.

Emergency Commission has earlier ordered the extension of the licensing period for cereal imports. This means that the licence is granted only in situations justified by the absence of local raw material.
