Moldovan head of state meets Eurojust president

Chisinau, April 9 /MOLDPRES/- Head of state Maia Sandu met today with Ladislav Hamran, President of Eurojust, an EU institution that provides support and exchange of information to prosecutors and judges from EU member states and third countries for the investigation of cross-border crimes, the presidential press service has reported.

The officials discussed the intensification of operational judicial cooperation with Eurojust and EU member states - an important element in the accession to the European Union.

The Head of State underlined that better cooperation with European institutions will contribute to more effective combating of cross-border crimes and to the intensification of the fight against organised crime and emphasised the role of joint investigation teams with the participation of Moldovan prosecutors.
