Europe remains largest market for Moldovan wines

Chisinau, April 9 /MOLDPRES/- Exports of wine produced in Moldova increased in 2023 by 18% in volume and 24% in value compared to 2022, which indicates stronger international demand and recognition of the quality of wines. Europe remains the largest market for Moldovan wines, with a 36% increase in value.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA), a significant increase in exports of Moldovan wines is also recorded in America, with an increase of 84% in value. The average export price for bottled wines increased by 9% to $1.70/bottle. Japan stands out with the highest average price of $3.29/bottle for bottled wine.

According to statistics, the Republic of Moldova is among the top 20 wine-producing countries. The wine industry is one of the key branches of our country's economy. Moldovan wines are imported by more than 70 countries from different corners of the world.
