Moldova to expand list of animal products exported to EU
Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/- The National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) has reconfirmed the commitment of the Republic of Moldova to expand the list of products of animal origin exported to the European Union market. The announcement was made at the closing ceremony of the audit mission in the Republic of Moldova, conducted by the auditors of the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety of the European Commission.
The mission aimed to evaluate the implementation of official controls on residues and contaminants in live animals and products of animal origin, including controls on veterinary products and medicines.
During the event, the preliminary findings and recommendations on the capacities of the Republic of Moldova to demonstrate the equivalence of the official control system and the implementation of the National Waste Monitoring Plan were presented.
“We would like to thank our colleagues from ANSA and the auditors who throughout this period have made a major effort to promote the capacity of the Republic of Moldova and the system of official controls and the implementation of the National Waste Monitoring Plan. We also thank the European Commission for the continuous support it offers to our country ", said Radu Musteața, general director of the National Agency for Food Safety.
At the same time, the head of ANSA reconfirmed the commitment of the Republic of Moldova to expand the list of animal products exported to the European Union market.
The audit mission took place on September 27 -October 8, 2021 in online format, with the objective of evaluating the planning and implementation of the National Monitoring Plan for Residues in milk, eggs and honey, both centrally and territorially.
